A MINISTRY OF THE WORD IN THE WORLD OF SPORT

Athletes In Faith exists to make Scripture-centered resources available to athletes, coaches, families, churches, teams and ministries.

The work is rooted in a simple mandate:

Train the Faith. Contend for the Faith.

Athletes In Faith offers biblical curriculum, devotionals, and books resources designed to help people understand Scripture, live faithfully and equip others to do the same.

Sport is a mission field, not the message. Competition exposes questions of identity, discipline, pressure, obedience, adversity, character, success, failure, influence and purpose. Athletes In Faith brings those realities under Scripture so faith is not merely displayed on game day, but lived before, during and after competition.

THE MISSION

Teach the Word. Equip disciples. Send them to live it.

The objective is not an audience. It is disciples.

Not personality dependence. Scriptural maturity.

Not religious performance. Faithful obedience.

Not content for content’s sake. Teaching that can be understood, lived and transmitted.

Kingdom Scribe & Teacher | Teacher, Athletes In Faith

Royce King is the teacher and writer behind Athletes In Faith. His work centers on examining what is written, communicating Scripture clearly, developing disciples, and creating resources that others can use to serve the people entrusted to them.

His principal ministry tools are writing, teaching, proclamation and discipleship.

Years behind a soundboard taught him to listen carefully, pay attention to detail, prepare thoroughly and serve so that people heard the message rather than the person behind it. Basketball officiating reinforced the same disciplines: see clearly, know what is right, make the call under pressure, maintain order and protect the integrity of what has been entrusted.

Those experiences now inform a Word-centered ministry serving the world of sport.

CALLING STATEMENT

To seek the Word of Elohim carefully, live beneath its authority, discern and articulate what is written, and faithfully teach, write and proclaim its truth so that others—particularly those reached through the world of sport—can understand, believe, obey, mature, serve, contend for the faith and become capable of teaching and discipling others.
